Rising Star impact factor

What is a Rising Star impact factor?

At VISFO, a Rising Star impact factor is aproprietary bibliometric-based calculation used to identify and rank future Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

How is it calculated?

Calculating the Rising Star impact factor involves several steps, including:

  • evaluating the prestige of contributions to publications within the past 5 years (authorship position)
  • assessing publication volume (number of publications authored in the past 5 years)
  • applying extra weighting for more recent research
  • applying further weighting for co-authorship with known KOLs
  • performing statistical transformations to create an accessible metric for analysis.

How are impact factors used?

Ranking Rising Stars by impact factor allows swift identification of future thought leaders who are actively publishing on themes closely aligned with strategic objectives.

By identifying and engaging Rising Stars, organizations can build long-term relationships with the thought leaders of tomorrow, gain fresh perspectives and drive innovation.
